Insights Into Things

Disney is turning into a regular fight club with yet another fist fight at a Disney Park. We'll follow up on the score card from the last fight in Disneyland. Then we'll talk about how Disney is desperately clawing its way to the top movies spot with it's desperate attempts to unseat Avatar as the highest grossing movie ever with Avengers End Game. We'll look at some Doctor Who news, then a few articles about one of our favorite shows The Orville before we finish up with our Insightful Picks of the Week.

In a very emotional episode today we discuss the challenges of coping with Traumatic Stress. We look at what Traumatic Stress is, some of the common causes of it and how to cope with the physical and psychological effects that Traumatic Events can have on us. During our discussion we analyze some traumatic events that both Madison and Joe experienced, the long term effects it had on us and how even to this day we are still coping with those effects.

This week we look at some of the harsh criticism lodged against the Disney Corporation and specifically Bob Iger by Disney heiress Abigail Disney. We look at some recently released details for Disney's new streaming media service. Then we'll talk about the partnership Disney and Spotify are engaged in. We'll take a moment to give Disney credit for honoring an american armed forces hero before we take a look at the latest teaser trailer for the new live action Mulan. We'll talk Emmy nominations, tributes to the Apollo 11 50th anniversary and some "Good Omens" news. As usually we'll wrap up with our Insightful Picks of the Week for another great podcast.

This week we host a special guest as we talk about what friendship is, how important it is to us, the many benefits of friendships and how to cultivate better friendships. Mariyah Ponto, one of Maddies best friends joins us for this discussion and for a touching question and answer session between the two of them. This week we talk about how to know yourself and the importance of being yourself. A discuss what it takes to resist peer pressure and what how important trusting your instincts and own judgement are. We learn how to understand who we are, how to accept ourselves for the type of person we are and how to love ourselves for being the unique person that we are. We'll also talk about how to handle yourself in situations where outside influences may try to change the person you are and why it's important to stay true to yourself.

Disney Detective this week takes a look at some casting information regarding the new Live Action version of The Little Mermaid and Doctor Strange 2, we catch up with Aladdin and its performance a the box office. Then we take a look at changes coming to a favor magazine from years gone by, we talk about more news of the Michael Jackson documentary Leaving Neverland and we pay tribute to a former Laugh-In star who recently passed away. We finish up with a couple of great Insightful Picks of the Week and some weird after thoughts.

This week we look at an issue all too common in Teens, Social Anxiety. Whether it's the terrifying burden of having to speak in public, socializing with people you don't know at an event, walking into a crowded room or just ordering food the fears and emotions that come from Social Anxiety can be crippling. In this episode we look at what Social Anxiety is, how to identify the symptoms and we look at where you're most likely to encounter Social Anxiety. Then we'll look at how to treat those afflicted with it, we'll discuss some common techniques to help you cope with it and we'll even give you some pointers on how to prepare yourself for situations you know you'll be in that can cause Social Anxiety. In the end we learn that while most people have some form of Social Anxiety it's a bit of a spectrum and each of us falls in a different area of that spectrum and how we handle it is situational. We also learn that what we think might be Social Anxiety may only manifest as such and might have a completely different root cause.

This week's Disney Detective segment dives into news about Disney's Haunted Mansion's 50th anniversary at Disneyland. We'll take a look at how Toy Story 4 is doing at the box office then take a brief look at some casting news regarding the forthcoming live action version of The Little Mermaid. In Entertainment News we'll discuss whether Bond 25 is a cursed movie, we'll look at special casting news coming from the new Ghostbusters movie and we'll talk some celebrity weddings and deaths before we get into our Insightful Picks of the Week. We'll wrap up with our afterthoughts on the new Harry Potter Wizards Unite game to sum up another great podcast.

This week the tables are turned and Madison is hosting the show. In her debut as show writer, producer and host she grills dad with a series of pointed and revealing questions that lets her get to know dad a little bit better and mark Father's Day with a special episode to all the fathers out there in the audience. Not only do we get to learn a little more about Joe, but also the relationship that Joe and Madison share. It's a touching and heartfelt episode for the holiday.
