Insights Into Things

We start this week off with a brief editorial on the strong arm tactics of Disney Entertainment which resulted in us having to edit out scenes from a recent Disney trailer. Then we move on to discuss the new VR experience Avengers: Damage Control, we'll take a look at a new promotion that will pay participants $1,000 to binge watch Disney movies and take a look at a heart warming experience by Captain Marvel herself Brie Larson at a recent convention. In entertainment news Martin Scorsese is once again attacking a movie genre that has proven immensely more successful than his own preferred niche of movie styles and JJ Abrams looks to offer some hope to Star Wars fans that Rian Johnson didn't put the final nail in the Star Wars franchise coffin with some encouraging news. In our Insightful Picks of the Week both Michelle and Joe go a bit outside their normal comfort zones with a couple of very unique and interesting picks, making this another great podcast this week.

This week we talk about how to cope with grief and loss. Whether it's the death of a friend or family member, a beloved pet or the loss of a relationship everyone experiences various stages of grief. We discuss these stages of grief, how they manifest themselves and how teens specifically are affected by grief and loss. People are stealing Disney rides, the Little Mermaid Live adds a 'Glee' Alum and we get some details on the new "Behind the Attraction" Docuseries that will be premiering sometime in the near future on the Disney+ streaming service. In Entertainment news Samuel L. Jackson has some choice words for Martin Scoresese, the return of the Animaniacs, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is going on a Jungle Cruise, and Mark Hamill is shooting a new movie in the podcasts neck of the woods. A brief "In Memoriam' to a fallen Mouseketeer and we finish up with our Insightful Picks of the week for another great podcast.

We celebrate what makes us different in our diversity and how the melding of cultures, religions, ethnicity and preferences makes us stronger. We also look at fear, close minded and an unwillingness to learn are the basis of discrimination. Hatred and intolerance is the root of discrimination and all of the negative effects it has on us and how it holds society back. We'll also look at what we as individuals can to do overcome discrimination, stand strong and celebrate the unity of our diversity.

This week Disney in the news for a lawsuit alleging discrimination by an autistic man for their current queuing policy for disabled guests. After a rich year at the box office for Disney in 2019 we'll take a look at the bleak outlook for the mega-company in the 2020 box office year. Then we'll pay tribute to Disneyland's customer number 1 from it's opening day back in 1955. Encouraging entertainment news indicates the screenwriter of the latest edition to the Star Wars movie franchise will settle the question of "Who is Rey". Stranger Things is renewed for a fourth season and it's creators Matt and Ross duffer sign a very lucrative multi-year contract to continue producing content. And finally we look at details just emerging on the much anticipated Billy Joel anthology TV series before we wrap up with our insightful picks of the week.

This week we look at self improvement. Learn the meaning of the concept, the philosophies surrounding it and why it is important. Then we'll take a look at the practical aspects of it and find out some of the best ways to improve ourselves and why we need to. Along the way we'll gain a new found appreciation for ourselves as individuals and allow the experience to shape how to interact with and treat others.

In our first episode of our newest podcast on the network we introduce our newest show host Sam Whalen as we discuss Gun Violence in America. We take a look at the Second Amendment, how it's evolved since the inception of the country and how gun violence compares statistically to other types of deaths in country. We'll also take a look at the effect mass shootings are having on our society and look at some of the proposed solutions to the issue of gun violence and how all of this will shape the future of America moving forward.

Disney to offer a vegan friendly menu at all of its dining locations in the parks while they sort out the overall lack of interest they're facing with Star Wars Galaxy's edge. Then we'll look at some of the desperate moves Disney is making to compensate for drop in park admissions, including further eroding the guest experience by axing popular street performances in it's Orlando Parks. All while Disney throwing Disney US Parks Chief Catherine Powell under the bus for the failures of the entire company, including the over paid Disney CEO Bob Iger. In entertainment news Disney decides 25% is better than 0% in their partnership with Sony over Spider-man, renewing that deal. We'll also look at the abysmal ratings for another year in a row for the Emmys but we'll end on a high note celebrating the 70th birthday of The Boss Bruce Springsteen.

We're talking teen responsibility this week. We learn how gradually increased responsibilities help our teens grow and mature and prepare for life in the real world. We'll look at some of the most common forms of responsibilities that teens face in their formative years and talk about ways to help manage those responsibilities in order to ensure success. In a rare treat our live streaming audience joins us in an interactive episode and help lend their own perspective to the topic at hand.

Disney strives to save the ceremonial waters of the Epcot fountain while Freeform TV offers a behind the scenes look at Galaxy's Edge some controversy over who the first Jewish Disney princess really is. In entertainment news we'll get a sneak peak at the new queen of The Crown, an update on the controversial HBO special on Michael Jackson, a tragic reveal for 'Queer Eye' alumn Jonathan Van Ness and Will Smith's support for anti-bullying.
